While you are in the region you should visit Montreux, which is in the middle of the Swiss Riviera and on the shores of Lake Geneva. So, enjoy walking by the lakeside and explore the town. One of the most historic places in the town is the Chillon Castle which is known for its towers and courtyards. And believe it or not it is the most frequently visited building in Switzerland for historical purposes. There are numerous rooms in the house which were once used for weaponry, frescoes and furniture. It is right by the lakefront so there is no to get there by taking a train or bus. Besides just doing a nice walk along the lakefront is already rewarding enough.
